both\" \/>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\n<h2>Vorbemerkung:<\/h2>\n<p>Von dieser AMIGA LP gibt es zwei Versionen beim Cover. Beide stammen von der 1974 ver\u00f6ffentlichten zweiten LP &#8222;Queen II&#8220;. Vermutlich gab es hier eine Nachauflage.<\/p>\n<p>Die erste AMIGA-Ausgabe (rotes Label) nutzt das Logo von der R\u00fcckseite des Klappcovers; vergr\u00f6\u00dfert und erg\u00e4nzt um den Schriftzug &#8222;Queen&#8220; von der Vorderseite . Innenseite\n\t\t\t\t<\/dd><\/dl><br style=\"clear: both\" \/>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\n<p>Die beiden AMIGA-R\u00fcckseiten sind fast identisch zueinender. Bei beiden Versionen befindet sich noch einmal oben in der Mitte das Logo. Auf der zweiten Version (blaues Label und Foto auf dem Cover) fehlt daf\u00fcr der Verweis auf die &#8222;Gestaltung: Gerd Semder&#8220; &#8211; diese Zeile ist leer. Au\u00dferdem ist der Textdruck in der zweiten Version etwas dicker.<\/p>\n<p>Der britische Fotograf <a class=\"link_1ctor link_15cpV\" href=\"https:\/\/www.discogs.com\/de\/artist\/625512-Mick-Rock\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" hreflang=\"de\">Mick Rock<\/a> hat die Bilder f\u00fcr das Original-Album &#8222;Queen II&#8220; gemacht. Trotz Verwendung des Bildes wird er bei der zweiten AMIGA-Ausgabe nicht als Bildquelle angegeben.<\/p>\n<p>Thomas Gro\u00df (2022)<\/p>\n<h2>Covertext<\/h2>\n<p>Ende 1968 gr\u00fcndete der Physik- und Astronomiestudent Brian May (g, p, voc; geb. am 19.7.1947 in Hampton) in London eine Band namens \u201eSmile&#8220;. Dazu stie\u00dfen der Biologiestudent Roger Meddows-Taylor (dr, perc, voc; geb. am 26.7.1946 in Norfolk) und der Grafikstudent Freddie Mercury (voc, p; geb. am 5.9.1946 in Sansibar).&nbsp;Nach der mehr oder weniger zuf\u00e4llig zustande gekommenen Produktion einer Single in den USA kam John Deacon (bg ; geb. am 19.8.1948) hinzu, der Elektronik, Akustik und Schwingungstechnik studiert hatte. 1970 legte man sich &#8211; nicht ohne auf Widerspruch traditionalistisch eingestellter Briten zu sto\u00dfen &#8211; den Namen Queen zu.<\/p>\n<p>Als ein neu errichtetes Tonstudio eine Gruppe f\u00fcr Akustikproben sucht, nutzt Queen die Chance und nimmt vier Titel auf. Das bringt ihr den ersten Schallplattenvertrag und so erscheint im Juli ihre erste Langspielplatte, schlicht \u201eQueen&#8220; betitelt. Gleichzeitig kommt mit \u201eKeep Yourself Alive&#8220; die erste Single heraus. Dennoch erreichte Queen ihren Durchbruch mehr auf der B\u00fchne als im Studio. Die Mitwirkung im Vorprogramm der Gruppe Mott The Hoople macht Queen in Gro\u00dfbritannien popul\u00e4r. 1974 kann Queen gleich mit zwei LP nachziehen: \u201eQeen II&#8220; und \u201eSheer Heart Attack&#8220;.<\/p>\n<p>Stets an der Hauptlinie der Rockentwicklung, dem hard rock orientiert, wof\u00fcr sich vor allem Gitarrist Brian May verantwortlich f\u00fchlt, findet Queen durch Hinzunahme diffiziler Klangpartikel aus Vaudeville, Swing, klassischer und zeitgen\u00f6ssischer Musik sowie eine Portion handfesten Rock &#8217;n&#8216; Roll&#8217;s zu dem ihr eigenen gruppentypischen Stilgemisch.<\/p>\n<p>Alle Titel werden in m\u00f6glichst gleichberechtigter Gemeinschaftsarbeit ausgefeilt. Dazu Brian May: \u201eWir haben uns um jeden Titel ewig gestritten und ich glaube, da\u00df wir unsere st\u00e4rksten Kritiker sind, weil einfach niemand irgendetwas durchbringt, was den anderen nicht gef\u00e4llt. Zwischendurch ist das immer etwas erm\u00fcdend, aber am Ende glaube ich doch, da\u00df auf diese Art und Weise das Beste herauskommt.&#8220;<\/p>\n<p>Sowohl in Show als auch in Musik pr\u00e4sentiert sich h\u00f6chste Pr\u00e4zision als gestalterisches Grundprinzip. Neben der unverwechselbaren Stimmf\u00e4rbung Freddie Mercury&#8217;s tr\u00e4gt der Klang der Gitarre von Brian May den Queen-Sound. May hat sein Instrument mit einer selbstentwickelten Elektronik ausgestattet, so da\u00df sie &#8211; wie ein Journalist aus der CSSR einmal treffend schrieb &#8211; wahlweise wie eine Geige, ein Moog-Synthesizer oder eine Motors\u00e4ge zu klingen vermag. Das gelang May derart t\u00e4uschend echt, so da\u00df ein britischer Kritiker anfangs von einem \u201edifferenzierten Einsatz des Moog&#8220; gewu\u00dft haben wollte. Freddie Mercury: \u201eEinige St\u00fccke auf unseren Alben klingen stark nach Synthesizer, aber wir verwenden nur Brian&#8217;s Gitarre.
